If you had to describe Burger King with using only one word, it would have to be Whopper. Whopper is their signature burger that put them on the map. It did to Burger King the same that Big Mac did to McDonald’s. Without those two burgers, the two restaurant chains would be vastly different.
So what is a Whopper? Whopper is an awesome burger that comes in single, double, and triple variations. In this review, we will only talk about the single one. It has a 1/4 lb. flame-grilled beef patty, topped with tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, pickles, and sliced white onions. It is all held together inside a sesame seed bun. If you want, you can also get a slice of cheese on it for an additional charge.
The burger itself is a whopping 660 calories, with 40g fat, 49g carbs, and 28g protein. The Whopper costs around $4.19, but depending on the location, it could be a little higher or lower.
In the first glance we can see all the ingredients that create this wonderfully magical burger. In my case, they decide to through a bunch of lettuce in there. Apparently they thought lettuce was my favorite food, so why not?
I’ll be honest here. This is certainly not my first bite of the Whopper. I’ve had it before many times and it’s tastiness can vary quite a bit. Sometimes it’s a bit dry, while other times it’s overly juicy. Although I’d take overly juicy any day over too dry.
So what does this burger taste like? Believe it or not, the ingredients all work together so well to create that awesome burger experience. You can taste the meat quite easily, but the lettuce and tomatoes compliment the meat quite well.
The bite has a bit of a crunch due to the lettuce and I would have to say it does add to the enjoyment. Without crunchy lettuce, it would not be as good.
While I always get my Whopper without the onions, I know the people that love onions love its crunchiness as well.
My verdict, heck yeah! Although there are undoubtably much better burgers in the fast food industry, the Whopper from Burger King is at the top of the list when it comes to taste and value. And when you’re comparing it to the other giants in the fast food industry such as McDonald’s and Wendy’s, it becomes clear that the Whopper is perhaps the best burger that you can find among those three restaurant chains.
