The Crunchy Taco from Taco Bell is one of their classic menu items. It consists of a hard taco shell, seasoned beef, lettuce, and cheese. A pretty simple combination that just seems to work.
The taco itself is only around 170 calories with 9g fat, 13g carbs and 8g protein. If you want a flavor kick, I’d always recommend the Fire sauce from Taco Bell. As far as price goes, this taco can be yours for only about $1.29, give or take a quarter or so depending on your location.
As you can see in the picture above, the taco is fairly straight-forward. No crazy toppings or presentation, yet it looks like it was put together well. This product is very much similar to the soft taco. The only difference is the hard shell taco vs. the soft flour tortilla.
Biting into the hard taco should satisfy your expectations. The flavor is not that strong (unless you put on the Fire sauce), but it is plentiful considering the plain ingredients. The bottom of the taco is usually the softer part due to the oils from the meat absorbing into it and making it softer and in some cases, a little soggy.
The top part of the taco is pretty hard and crunchy and you’ll usually only take the lettuce or cheese in that part. Since the ground beef is layered towards the bottom, you kinda always have an uneven bite. But I guess that’s just how tacos are.
If you love hard tacos, then this is a great option to choose when you’re at Taco Bell. It has a classic taste and will not fill you up with unnecessary calories or empty out your wallet.
