In this article, I will review the new Taco Bell’s Wild Naked Chicken Chalupa. Although this bears the name chalupa, keep in mind that it is much smaller than their regular Beef Supreme Chalupas.
The Wild Naked Chicken Chalupa is 420 calories, with 28g fat, 23g carbs, and 19g protein. It usually costs around $2.99, which is similar to the regular beef Chalupa Supreme.
On first glance, I knew it was going to be tasty even if I don’t particularly like the way it is designed. After all, how can you hate on a fancy taco whose shell is made of chicken?
Eating this fancy Chalupa proved to be delicious, yet not perfect. For one, it was overly dry. The wild sauce was mainly at the bottom of the Chalupa, so you barely taste it until you’re almost done eating the darn thing.
Second, the chicken shell was very dry and hard. It really wasn’t very chicken-y, if you will. It still tastes pretty good, but not as good as you would think.
And finally, this Chalupa is pretty small. Despite being 420 calories, it’s not a large meal by any means. You could easily eat two of these, I would think. I did like how it was a little spicy, but not overwhelmingly spicy.
If you like Chalupas, go ahead and try the Wild Naked Chicken Chalupa, but don’t expect it to be similar to the regular Chalupa. In fact, this is more like a fancy taco with a chicken shell.
